Dr. Shelley Smith, Professor of Anthropology at the University of Texas at Arlington, will be in the exhibit with touchable objects to answer questions and talk about her research.

Shelley is a biological anthropologist whose research interests lie at the intersection of human evolution and modern human biology. Much of her work has focused on the childhood and adolescent periods. Her research on dental and facial development has been conducted in collaboration with colleagues at the Baylor College of Dentistry in Dallas. While her theoretical interest is in variation among individuals, the results of her research are also often of clinical or forensic relevance.
