Matt Tocheri

Matt Tocheri is the Canada Research Chair in Human Origins at Lakehead University (Thunder Bay, Ontario) and a Research Associate in the Smithsonian Institution’s Human Origins Program. He received his PhD in Anthropology from Arizona State University in 2007 and was elected Fellow of the American Association for the Advancement of Science in 2013. His research focuses on the evolutionary history and functional morphology of the human and great ape family, with a special interest in Homo floresiensis, the so-called ‘hobbits’ of human evolution.
