The oldest from southest Asia?
This fossil braincase of a young (2-4 year old) individual was found in a layer about 20 meters above a 1.8-million-year-old volcanic layer. The genus Homo arrived in island Indonesia by at least 1.6 million years ago, when Java was connected to Asia by a land bridge.
