Rebecca Wragg Sykes is an Honorary Fellow at the Universities of Liverpool and Bordeaux. An archaeologist specializing in the Palaeolithic, and author of Kindred: Neanderthal Life, Love, Death, and Art, she has been fascinated with the deep past since childhood. Her doctoral thesis was the first synthesis of late Neanderthals in Britain, and since her postdoctoral research examining silcrete stone use in Southeast France, she has become widely recognized for her public communication including writing and broadcasting.

Wragg Sykes shares how 21st-century archaeology has led to a profound reimagining of Neanderthals and the worlds they lived in. The webinar was moderated by Briana Pobiner, paleoanthropologist and educator at Smithsonian's National Museum of Natural History.
