The Scientist Is In: Ayla Riley-Horst [POSTPONED]
Come meet Ayla Riley-Horst from the Center for the Advanced Study of Human Paleobiology at George Washington University and talk to her about her research! Ayla’s research is mainly focused on the human pelvis and the size and shape differences you can see between the sexes, known as sexual dimorphism. She is interested in using the fossil record to understand the evolution of sexual dimorphism, and what selection pressures might have contributed to the trends we see today. She is also eager to explore or refine methods to more accurately determine the sex and age of an individual from their pelvis.
The Scientist Is In program provides opportunities for museum visitors to have informal conversations with scientists, and is not a formal lecture program. Drop in and join the conversation.
